McGahee Unconcerned About Trade Rumors

Oct 12, 2014 8:29 PM

Ravens running back Willis McGahee isn't concerned about trade rumors involving his name. "I don't know what's going on," McGahee said. "Nobody has told me nothing. I don't know anything. I'm in the dark just like you. If you know something, you can tell me. I don't know anything." McGahee didn't play in Baltimore's third preseason game against the New York Giants. He was informed by running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery before the Ravens played the Giants that he was unlikely to play.

The Seahawks are looking into the possibility of making a play for Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson. Seattle has been given permission to talk to the agents for unsigned Jackson, but those initial talks didn't do anything to resolve Jackson's current holdout. The Chargers plan to place Jackson on the roster exemption list at midnight eastern Friday if he doesn't report.

Vikings Have Trade Chip In Rosenfels

Sep 15, 2014 11:24 PM

The Vikings may have a nice trade chip in quarterback Sage Rosenfels now that Brett Favre has decided to return yet again. Rosenfels is Minnesota's third option behind Favre and Tarvaris Jackson. There are a number of teams without established backups, which could drive up Rosenfels' value as time passes.

Seahawks Trade Jackson To Lions

Oct 12, 2014 6:15 AM

The Seahawks have traded defensive end and former first-round pick Lawrence Jackson to the Lions for an undisclosed draft choice in 2011. Seattle selected Jackson with the 28th pick in 2008. The pick Seattle is getting from Detroit is likely in the same low round next year as the one the Seahawks had just lost to the 49ers to get Kentwan Balmer, who was drafted one choice behind Jackson in 2008.

Merriman Trade Appears Unlikely

Nov 7, 2014 6:09 AM

It is appearing increasingly unlikely that the Chargers will trade linebacker Shawne Merriman, writes Len Pasquarelli on ESPN.com. "Probably, in part, because of knee problems that plagued Merriman the past two seasons, the Chargers received virtually no substantive proposals when they offered him around the league at draft time," Pasquarelli points out. "Merriman is a rush outside 'backer, a defender who essentially lines up at end on third down, is most effective when moving forward in a 3-4 front and is probably a liability in pass coverage. The Falcons play a classic 4-3, rarely mix in the three-man front and aren't about to change that philosophy."
